Personal
- Stop doing useless shit
- Reduce screen time by 50%, 4 → 2 (hours daily)
- Probably the hardest one (33%)
- Maybe a bad metric, what I’m doing matters
- Make 10 weekly GitHub contributions
- Probably the easiest one (100%)
- I had made an algorithm that would count contributions based on the contribution graph on a GitHub profile but it seems like they updated their UI and it doesn’t work anymore
- Reduce screen time by 50%, 4 → 2 (hours daily)
- Get healthier
- Lose 10 kilos, 104 → 94
- Amazingly I stayed 104kg, even with exercising and dieting
- Also, it may be a bad metric, the fact that my weight didn’t change even with the correct habits probably means I lost fat and gained muscle, body fat tracking would’ve been better
- Go to the gym 5 days a week
- Also much easier than expected (100%)
- Lose 10 kilos, 104 → 94
- Grow social media presence
- Grow Instagram follower count by 50%, 320 → 480
- 305, I lost 15 followers 🤡 (0%)
- 3x Twitter follower count, 64 → 192
- 136 (44%)
- I don’t know why but most of my new followers are spam accounts
- Grow Instagram follower count by 50%, 320 → 480
Commentary
Even with most key-results not being met I believe this experiment it was a success. I realized pretty early during the quarter that some of them were measuring the wrong thing, the good part is that defining metrics for your goals is actually a trainable skill, and I’m my way to getting better at it. The ones I’m least okay with are the Mind results, I’d expect by now that we’d have a few users, but as always things got complicated and I didn’t dedicate as much time to it as I should have. My biggest problem was time allocation and being consistent with doing a little everyday, and following my therapist advice, I now got a better framework for doing so, and I’m sure we’ll get much more achieved this time.

Reduce screen time by 50%, 4 → 2 (hours daily)- I’ll test having no social media on my phone- Stream at least 8 times a month - I do live coding streams on twitchand I found that they are a great way to keep you focused on working on a project
- Start creating technical content - Yes, it’s vague, I’m not sure what media to do yet, neither in which language, would love to talk about it if you have any ideas
- One good blog post a month - My bet with Gustavo made me trade quality for quantity, I’d like to change that
Get healthier- I’m happy with my exercising and dieting scheme for nowGrow social media presence- I’m not so sure where I wanted to go when I planned this, but I think it’s related to creating a personal brand, the problem is that I was focused on mindless posting about myself, I’ll try a more content driven approach, under Stop doing useless shit
